This is bad. I’m willing to give this movie a chance, but this is not a good omen.
I’ll let !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! take it from here:
Paul Feig’s forthcoming Ghostbusters movie is a full reboot — right down to the music. Ray Parker Jr.’s !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! has been re-rerecorded by !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! and !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! , and it’s the musical equivalent of a high school science project in which you’re paired with a guy named Pete. Only, Pete is too busy getting his tips frosted and shopping at Hot Topic to put in any real effort, and you two wait until the night before to scotch tape together a poster board posing the question: why do farts stink? While you’re rummaging through the draw looking for a new glue stick, Pete says, “You know what looks sick? The new Ghostbusters movie!” and he starts strumming the theme on his Corvette red First Act guitar. Then, Pete’s annoying friend Patrick rings the doorbell with his laptop in tow. They plug in Pete’s guitar, load up Garage Band, select a pre-recorded drum loop from the electronic section, and Pete “does his thing.” Wait, why is Patrick singing like he’s standing in a pool of sulfuric acid? you ask yourself. “You know what would be good?” Patrick says. “A hip-hop verse!” At this point, you’ve pre-heated the oven to 350 degrees and have two legs inside, ready to end life. That, ladies and gentlemen, is what Fall Out Boy’s Ghostbusters theme song sounds like.
Hit the video above to hear what the CIA will soon be using to torture detainees in Guantanamo. After listening, I’m told Huey Lewis !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! against Parker and instead sent him a fruit basket.

I’m actually glad that this is locked in my country.

You should be. It’s a disgrace.

10 years ago, I would’ve been excited to hear FOB covering the Ghostbusters theme. They did such a great job covering “Beat It”.

Wow, that is atrocious.

I’m curious to see how much of a massive flop this “movie” will be :)

That was actually really good. Shame they couldn’t do the same here.

That’s set the bar pretty high for the worst thing I’ll hear today.

Oh I’m sure it will be a big success. There are plenty of younger people who aren’t familiar with or don’t care about the originals and just want to see Melissa McCarthy and Kristen Weig.

Fighting the urge to click play. It’s a little to early to ruin my day.

If you get too happy later on, just come back and give it a play.

Go check at the trailer on youtube and look at the amount of dislike... It’s fighting for most ever disliked video on youtube. It’s up there with Justin Bieber’ Baby and Rebecca Black. I have good hopes for the movie to die to the ground :)

One can hope, but I hesitate to put much faith in humanity.

I was never going to give it a chance.

Why would anyone want to see them?

Honestly, while I think the original song would have been completely fine to use - this wasn’t that bad for a modern interpretation.
I happen to like Fall Out Boy so that helps, but this isn’t that bad of a modern theme song.

this is my favorite version.

Agreed. This is horrible, and anyone who likes it should feel bad. I will not see this movie because of it...,. oh shit, I started writing this before the hip-hop verse. I didn’t think it could get worse, but holy shit I was not prepared for that turd.
![]() 06/23/2016 at 11:09 |

Nope, don’t like it, even though I am a big fan of FOB, this song is no where near as good as the original. Maybe it’s a sign of how good the actual movie will be.

We can’t all be perfect lol

Wow, this is pretty awful. Then again, it should fit the movie quite well.
Saw a guy the other day with an old Ghostbusters shirt on and I asked him how awful he thinks this movie would be, and he told me he was excited for it. Um, what? This guy was clearly old enough to remember the original too.
Back to the song. If they were going to “remake” a song into a more modern version, they probably should have done "On Our Own" instead from Ghostbusters 2.

I really do like Fallout Boy, but, I’d rather forget this song ever existed.

I really, really, really, really wish Fall Out Boy just broke up when they went on hiatus. We’d have more of Patrick Stump solo, and we wouldn’t have this shit and American Beauty/American Psycho.
![]() 06/23/2016 at 17:21 |
|
Yeah, that was ... uh ... yeah. That was pretty bad. They should’ve just hired this guy if they wanted a more “rock’n roll” version, and I’m using that term veeeeery loosely here.

Honestly I didn’t hate it. Although I do think it’s strangely campy and silly to hear the Ghostbusters theme in Patrick Stump’s voice.
Unpopular opinion: I could not care less about Ghostbusters. I saw it for the first and only time a few years ago, and didn’t think it was all that good or funny. Nostalgia is a powerful thing.
Unpopular opinion 2: I don’t care about the lady Ghostbusters coming out. The trailers had some funny moments, some comedy “” that fell extremely flat, and it will probably be a completely fine, forgettable movie.
